Un hombre que no cree en las mujeres
cree en la muerte.
La ha pintado alzándose con alas óseas
sobre la oscuridad de su casa.
Le ha cantado con un solo tono pálido.
Le ha acariciado el pelo.
Pero su mano retorna cubierta de telarañas
& su garganta se llena de polvo.
Las alas óseas crujen cuando alza su pincel.
Su esposa se da vueltas en su cama.
Sueña con la tumba de su madre a punto de germinar.
Huele el polvo de su pelo.
Él es la flor gris que crece
entre su lápida & el cielo.
Él es la maleza en la grieta del pavimento.
Él es el bebé de negro.
Su hija da vueltas y vueltas mientras duerme.
Sus párpados se mueven con los sueños.
Ella sueña que despierta & lo encuentra ido
& el nombre de su abuela es muerte.

A man who does not believe in women
believes in death.
He has painted it rising with bone wings
over the dark of his house.
He has sung to it in a pale monotone.
He has stroked its hair.
But his hand comes back covered with cobwebs
& his throat fills with dust.
The bone wings creak when he raises his brush.
His wife turns in her bed.
He dreams of his mother's grave going to seed.
He smells the dust of her hair.
He is the gray flower which grows
between her headstone & the sky.
He is the weed in the paving crack.
He is the baby in black.
His daughter turns & turns in her sleep.
Her eyelids move with dreams.
